Principal's Message

Principal - Paul Fuller

Mr. Fuller is serving his 10th year at Laurelwood. This is his third year as Principal of Laurelwood, after serving 7 years as the Assistant Principal. Mr. Fuller has served Santa Clara Unified School District for almost two decades in positions throughout the district. Serving in roles at all levels, from Elementary Physical Education Teacher to High School Math Teacher to District level Math Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) to Middle School Summer School Principal. Mr. Fuller is a product of Santa Clara Schools and is proud to have spent his professional career supporting the district he grew up in. 

During Mr. Fuller's time at Laurelwood, he has focused on supporting students academically and socially emotionally, living the Laurelwood motto of "Supporting the Whole Child". Mr. Fuller has led the implementation and growth of the Laurelwood Way, Laurelwood’s set of school wide expectations, as part of our Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS), to support a positive school climate for students and staff. Mr. Fuller has run multiple extra curricular activities at Laurelwood from advising Student Council to coaching the 4th/5th Grade Flag Football Team, to supporting many lunchtime and after school activities. Mr. Fuller loves to focus on celebrating students' successes by handing out Tiger Paw pencils every Friday and running our monthly Blue Day Assemblies to recognize students for following the Laurelwood Way and displaying characteristics of our monthly power words. Mr. Fuller started our Mindfulness Mondays program that teaches students about emotional regulation, using Zones of Regulation, Kimochi's, and many other resources. Mr. Fuller serves as a Check In Check Out student Mentor and enjoys when he is able to run small group academic intervention. Mr. Fuller is committed to creating hands-on learning opportunities in the Laurelwood Learning Garden and STEAM Lab, for all students.
